Please read these Terms of Service carefully before using Papertrail. By using the app you agree to these terms.

The Service

Papertrail is a private note vault and digital delivery service that allows users to capture personal notes and send them as designed digital messages via SMS or email. Papertrail is operated from 11732 Dorothy St, Los Angeles, CA 90049.

Account Registration

You must create an account to use Papertrail. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity under your account. You must be at least 13 years old to use the service.

Subscriptions and Payments

Papertrail is a paid subscription service. You agree to pay the applicable subscription fees as displayed at the time of purchase. Subscriptions automatically renew unless cancelled before the renewal date. You may cancel at any time through your account settings or the Stripe customer portal. We do not offer refunds for partial subscription periods. All payments are processed securely by Stripe.

Your Content

You retain ownership of all notes and content you create in Papertrail. By using the service you grant us a limited license to store and transmit your content solely for the purpose of providing the service to you. You are solely responsible for the content of your notes and messages.

Recipient Consent

Before Papertrail will deliver any note to a recipient, that recipient must give consent. When you add a person, Papertrail emails them a Connection Request describing who you are and asking them to confirm. Only after they tap "Accept & Connect" — which is their express written consent to receive personal notes from you by email and/or SMS — will any note be delivered. Recipients can opt out at any time by replying STOP to an SMS, using the unsubscribe link in any email, or contacting hello@papertrailcards.com. See our Messaging Policy for full details. You agree not to use Papertrail to send unsolicited, harassing, or unwanted messages to any person.

Prohibited Uses

You agree not to use Papertrail to send spam, harassment, threats, or illegal content; impersonate any person; violate any applicable law; attempt to access other users' accounts or data; or reverse engineer or misuse the service in any way.

Service Availability

We strive to maintain reliable service but do not guarantee uninterrupted availability. We are not liable for any loss or inconvenience caused by service downtime.

Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account if you violate these terms. You may delete your account at any time through the app settings.

Disclaimer of Warranties

Papertrail is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not guarantee that the service will meet your specific requirements or that it will be error-free.

Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Papertrail shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the service. Our total liability to you shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months prior to the claim.

Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California.

Changes to These Terms

We may update these terms from time to time. Continued use of the service after changes constitutes acceptance of the new terms. We will notify you of material changes via email.
